Union Specific is an indie roots/country band from Austin, TX. The band is comprised of vocalists/guitarists,Tyler Wallace, Gregg Maher, and bassist, Kim Taruc. The band performs live as a trio with upright bass, acoustic guitar, and telecaster and often with additional members on drums, pedal steel, mandolin, and piano.

Since forming in 2008, Union Specific has toured extensively throughout. the American Midwest, and Southeast. Most notable performances include shows with Mark Mulcahy (of Polaris), The Gourds, Joe Ely, Jake Shimabakuro, and Junior Brown. Union Specific shares the stage with many Americana artists but is also recognized as a rock and roll outfit performing alongside bands such as The Ghost Wolves, and Ian Moore.

In July 2014, Union Specific headlined The Nebraska Folk and Roots Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska sharing the stage with Wild Child and Austin Lucas. (See the performance here. youtu.be/gXgHp8jd28E crowd shot at 3:32)

The band has been featured on the highly regarded music website, Daytrotter. Union Specific's Daytrotter session was released in March 2014.

During SXSW, 2014, Union Specific was awarded a free day in the studio by Converse Allstar as part of its Rubbertracks Sessions. Union Specific preformed as a SXSW official artist in 2012.

Union Specific frequently performs at Codfish Hollow in Maquoketa, Iowa which hosts shows for the likes of Norah Jones, John C. Reilly, and Counting Crows.

In April, 2013 the band released their first LP, "Diesel Engines and Kerosene Visions" featuring live analogue takes, layered with pedal steel and electric guitar.

The tracks listed here are mastered cuts from the currently unreleased, "Howlin Room". This new twelve song LP, is a departure from the electric sound prevalent on "Diesel Engines." The record also features drums by Jonathan Konya (The Ghost Wolves) and pedal steel by Bob Hoffnar (Ryan Adams: "Jacksonville City Nights")
